How RestockPal alerts work
Shelves empty fast. Here's exactly who hears about a find, and when.
Who gets an alert
- You get an alert when someone reports an item on your list at a store within your alert distance (5 to 50 miles from your town; 15 by default).
- If your list is empty, you hear about any NeeDoh nearby.
- Tap "Alert me" on a store to hear about everything there, however far it is.
- Checked something off as "Got it"? Its alerts stop.
When alerts arrive
| Plus | Free | |
|---|---|---|
| Your first 5 alerts | Instant | Instant |
| Store sightings and heads-ups | Instant | 15 minutes later |
| Online drops (Target.com, Walmart.com, Amazon) | Instant | 1 minute later |
Online drops often sell out in seconds, so even a minute matters there. You can earn free months of Plus by reporting what you find: every report earns points, and so does every time a neighbor confirms one of yours.
Three kinds of posts
- Sightings: "I saw it on the shelf." Shows the store, time, stock level, how many were left, price and limit.
- Heads-ups: "It's coming tomorrow morning." Never shown as in stock; neighbors tap "It came in" once it does.
- Online drops: "Back on Target.com." Posted by RestockPal with a link straight to the product page.
Keeping reports honest
- Posting needs Sign in with Apple, one account per person.
- Neighbors confirm reports. Spotters with 5 confirmed reports earn a Trusted mark.
- Brand-new accounts can't hide or override someone else's sighting, so nobody can scare parents away from a store.
- Anyone can flag a fake report, and we review every flag.
Sightings come from parents, not the stores. Call ahead if you're driving far.
